Intergenerational Africa Dialogue — Youth Plenary & Enterprise Track
Plenary and side sessions within LPSA 2026 (Somaliland) on generational renewal: ageing leadership, youth majority democracies, Gen Z representation — inviting young leaders, founders, and innovators alongside heads of delegation.
Why this track matters now
Many African societies combine a youthful demographic majority with leadership structures that still skew toward long tenure and seniority. The tension is not symbolic — it shapes trust in elections, budgets, climate adaptation, and jobs.
LPSA’s First Africa Edition already elevates Africa youth engagement across plenary and side programmes. This track names that priority explicitly: structured exchange between established decision-makers and the generation inheriting institutions — including young entrepreneurs whose firms hire, train, and export solutions.
Our publication “World Ageing Political Leaders…” explores these dynamics globally; this track translates themes into live Summit dialogue and partnerships on the ground in Somaliland.
Programme pillars
Plenary dialogue
Headline segments on intergenerational accountability: how institutions can pair experience with fresh mandates, and how young majorities in many states can be heard without reducing complex policy to slogans.
Side sessions
Curated breakouts for young officials, civil society, media, and faith and community leaders — including peer learning on peace, inclusion, and digital participation.
Young enterprise & innovation
Roundtables for founders and growth-stage firms whose work touches public value: civic technology, financial inclusion, creative industries, climate-smart services, and job creation where governance and markets meet.
Who we invite
- Young leaders in public office, party youth wings, and legislative caucuses
- Founders and CEOs building scalable solutions across Africa and the diaspora
